This is a first draft – “In first grade I would eat dinner and spend the rest of the night crying and clutching my stomach.” Brought a tear – or two – to my eye. Beautifully written.
Write for your audience. In other words, if your site’s about puppies you probably shouldn’t be writing about your latest trip to the dentist. The puppy lovers that came to your blog didn’t come to your blog to hear about your tooth decay issues and they are probably not going to stick around to read about it.
“I think this a review of a trailer” is a meandering tumbling fever-dream of a micro-story.
Stop for a second and reread any paragraph in this article, but this time, I want you to listen to the voice you’ve constructed in your head. It sounds like you. This is why, when we meet, you’re going to be confused because I don’t sound like you. You do.
